Aleksis Fousekis

Aleksis Fousekis was born and raised in Athens. Since his early childhood, he has taken up on artistic gymnastics, track and traditional dances in the dance sector of the Students Cultural Society of the University of Athens (POFPA).


He has taken dance lessons in the schools of Fokas Evaggelinos, Anna Petrova and Aliki Kontziou-Gousa. In 2008 he was accepted to the Greek National School of Dance, from which he graduated obtaining a scholarship for the Martha Graham School of New York. In 2012 he presented his thesis performance, the choreography “Maria”, in New Creators Dance Festival.


He has attended seminars of: Markela Manoliadi, Samuel Lefeuvre, Peter Jasko, Eulalia Ayguade Farro, Seol Jin Kim, Bruno Caverna, Filipa Peraltinha, Ryan Mason (Stasstheater in Kassel), DV8, Urs Stauffer, David Zambrano, Athina Vahla, Martin Lawrence, Martin Kilvady, Anton Lachky, Maya M.Carrol, Konstantina Efthimiadou, Myrto Katsiki.


He has collaborated as a performer with Fokas Evaggelinos, Konstantinos Rigos, Marivita Grammatikaki, Pierre Tavernie, Markela Manoliadi and Evripidis Laskaridis.


In 2013 he participated in the Athens and Epidaurus Festival in Dionisis Savvopoulos’ “Plutus”, a play choreographed by Ermis Malkotsis, and in 2014 he has danced in Konstantinos Rigos’ “Arcadia”, along with another 11 dancers, accompanying the newly-formed then dance theatre OKTANA.
